National Express Moving ("NEM") made the process of moving far more stressful than it needed to be. They missed their 2-day pickup window and never called to update or reschedule. After calling repeatedly over a 5 day period to get information on my move and failing to hear back, I lost trust in their ability to perform and was forced to hire an alternative provider (who agreed to perform the same move at 20% less than their net price offering). Upon cancellation of my move because of their failure to perform, I was refused my deposit back. Buyer beware.
This company started off great! Very nice good quote etc. when we choose pickup/delivery date I just said that it need to be done where it would be delivered on June 8th at the latest the 9th. My husband was scheduled to begin his new job on the 10 th and the kids and I will not be arriving until the end of the month. Anyways the girl promised it would be delivered by the 9th if it was picked up on the 7th! The driver and everyone went a long with that until all of our stuff was loaded up. The driver then said he would call us in an hour and if we did not hear from him to call him in 2. We called after 2 hours and he did not answer. Finally after about 4 hours the boss Adam calls and says it will be Monday the 10th @ 5:00pm before our things were delivered. I called Monday to confirm and it changed to Tuesday evening. Then Tuesday @6:00 pm we found out our things would not be delivered until Wedneaday Morning. They were finally delivered on the 12th. They could get away with this because in their contract it said 5 days..too bad I didn't see that beforehand and that I was not smart and listened to Lisa. Out cost also went up @$300 from what was quoted even though they carried less things than were anticipated. They did give us a $75 discount since my husband had to sleep on the floor of an empty house for several nights. When I would call about our things I was yelled at put off, not called back etc! I was not the nicest person either, but they had our things and would not say when we would get them!
Also, the driver kept mentioning getting a good tip. 1st of all I was prepared to tip also had water and Gatorade and bought them lunch. Tipped after picking up stuff. Hinted again for tip at drop off (which we would have done) but we did not bc they didn't do what they said. They all lied to us including the driver. It is alsO very rude to ask for a tip several times. Very unprofessional!
I am not there yet to unpack but my husband does say that everything appears to be ok and there. I will check it more thoroughly when I get there next week. The movers did appear to be careful with our things and wrap them well (but we were charge for the tape and were not told of that charge beforehand).
Awful! I would never recommend this company, in fact I am still fighting with them. It started out great, very nice and professional. I call about 4 days before our scheduled move and confirmed. They called 2 days before with a window and said b/w 10 and 3. We hired a sitter from 10-5 as we have little kids and didn't want them to be underfoot or upset seeing their stuff moved. Come 2:30, I called and asked about the status, the girl on the phone laughed and said she didn't know what was going on..kept laughing and said " I didn't get the whole story from the driver and don't want to.." she said they were on their way and should be there, btu were running late. Come 4 pm, I got a call from Gina who booked us. She said she noticed we were on her log and calle dto tell us that she had us down for the next day. At this, I about freaked because we had to be out of our house bc we closed at 10 am the next day and we had been waiting all day and I also had taken the day off work, so now you have lost wages and the cost of the sitter, not to mention the stress we went through as I then got the run around from Gina and then her boss. It was the worst I've ever been treated, and we scrambled to rent a uhaul before they closed at 6 p and then to load it, asking neighbors for help and paying them to help us. We loaded until 10 p at night. The next am was a mad scramble to get out of the house by closing. The owner promised to refund my money as he offered to come the next am, but I told him that was too late, and I couldn't risk jeoprodizing the sale of my house. I spent a lot of time researching companies, and though I think this one has an A rating, I don't know how because I've never experienced anything like it. I feel like I was scammed.
Stay away from using this moving company. The staff at National Express, Inc. (based in Atlanta, GA) are unprofessional and impolite to say the least. Sales representatives (Lisa) make false promises and managers (Adam/Jay) are rude, arrogant and very unfriendly. Overpriced move, with charges continuously increasing after quotes/contract has been made.
You are held "hostage" for your items. Pay up or they threaten to leave your items at a local storage facility. They call you less than 24 hours before they arrive, not giving you adequate time to make arrangements to accommodate the move. Unapologetic, uncompromising and unwilling to accommodate any basic needs.
Original quote was for $1,267.31 final bill: $2,330.81
National Express, Inc. are very good at two things: causing anxiety and stress.
Ripoff by National Express logistics/Interstate Relocation.
We had to move from Atlanta to New Jersey and after submitting our request online we were contacted by Lisa at National Express Logistics (if you look for their US DOT - 1911152 - the associated name is Interstate Relocation). She arranged for a visit by Jay, to do an estimate of our belonging and then she sent us a quote. We agreed to pay additional 1100$ to have a guaranteed delivery date on July 19th and full packing. The total amout of the binding estimate was 4483.75$. We paid the down payment via CC. On the scheduled date the movers came on time and were quite fast in packing all our stuff. When they were done loading the truck, they said that the estimate was wrong (apparently we had double the volume that Jay esimated!!) and so we had to pay about 900$ more for extra labor and fuel surcharge. We had no choice at that point, so we agreed to that. They arrived at destination on the scheduled day even though they were few hours late. They asked extra about 300$ bacause they could park the truck only few feets away from the door. They wanted the balance before unloading the truck and then left before we could check our belongings. After we unpacked we realized that: 1) some stuff were missing: a folding wooden table with drawers full of quality linens for a value of 800$ 2) all our clothes had been stuffed in regular boxes instead of being hung to proper wardrobe moving boxes as they had told us 3) a fan that didn't belong to us was delivered to our house We contacted the truck driver which said that the missing stuff was probably in a warehouse in Atlanta, so we contacted Jay, our referent to figure out how to get the items back. Jay told us that he had found the table and that he was going to deliver it to us later that week, with another shipment that they had to do for another customer moving to NJ. Then when we contacted him later that week he said that that moving didn't happen in the end, so that we had to wait few days more. And then this shipment was delayed again and again, until about one month from the supposed guaranteed delivery date. On August 15th this truck was supposed to arrive here after delivering another shipment to Virginia. On that day we tried multiple time to contact Jay to know exactly what time it was arriving and he never picked up the phone nor reurned the voice messages, until late in the evening when he picked up our call and said that the truck driver delivered by mistake our stuff to the customer in Virginia. But he reassured us that he was going to have that customer send us our stuff by UPS the next day and that he was going to send me the tracking info and the contact of this customer. Which he never did. The morning after, quite pissed off, I asked to receive the item by 1 month of the original delivery date, because otherwise I had to file a claim with my insurance and I had only 1 month from the original delivery date to do so. He said that he needed few more days but that he guaranteed that we were going to receive our stuff back on August 21st and again that he was going to send me the tracking info. And he also said he didn't care about the fan that was misdelivered to us and that we could keep it (I guess they did the same with our table..) After that, I tried calling him a hundred times and he never picked up nor called back. If I call from a different number which he doesn't know, he picks up and then hangs up as soon as he hears my name. Of course we didn't receive the tracking number, nor our stuff. I called the office, Lisa, and tried to have her find out what happened to my table and linens. I also offered to go pick them up myself or send a friend: I just needed to know where the items were. She said she was going to ask Jay and Adams about it and call me back. Not only she didn't, but now she doesn't pick up my calls in the office and she doesn't call back when her colleague says she is on the phone and will call me back as soon as she is done. Right after posting a negative review on ripoff.org I have been contacted by a supposed driver of the company, Mike, who declared to be in New Jersey and that he might have my items on his truck. He said that he was going to check and call me back the day after. He also said that in case he coulnd't find my stuff I was going to receive a check (even though they didn't even know the value of what was missing). He never called me back and never returned my calls (it has been another month now). We decided to proceed submitting a claim with them to get at least some money back, but they denied the claim, basically stating that it was not true that our belongings were not delivered. All the phone/email conversations they had with us, "explaining" what happened to our belongings, apparently were just for fun! In summary: - we paid 1200$ more than what was estimated - they STOLE items for a value of 800$ - they have a non-existing customer service This is the worst company we have ever dealt with. They should be investigated as there are tons of aweful reviews on the internet showing this unacceptable behavior. I wish we had found them earlier. Note that the same employees (or oweners, I don't know) are associated to companies named "interstate relocation", "national express logistics", "pro movers, inc". .
All their employees are crooks. I had never had such a horrible experience before dealing with service companies. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! They hook you into using their company by giving you an attractive quote. Ours ended up doubled when the driver got our house. We had to load only one third of things in the quote to the truck. They bumped the furnitures to everywhere on the walls, we had to repair our house afterward. Technically they threw our furniture into the truck. when the furnitures arrived, they were damaged so badly that we cold not use anymore. around 9 boxes were gone. We faxed them the claim form. Then we could never get hold of anyone anymore. We still keep all the documents. If anyone wants to sue them, please contact me. The whole experience is a nightmare!! Save your self! Don't use them. .
I have never had such a bad experience with a moving company. They were late picking up my things, they made me wait a whole day, and never delivered my things, they quoted me one price, but charged me another. They scratched my furniture. This company is awful.
They never called to let me know that there were some issues. No one speaks English. The manager is useless.
This is a joke, you give them your move in date and it means nothing. July 2nd and I am still waiting on my June 16th delivery. Now I find out that it’s because they underestimated my space needed and I owe 400.00 before they will schedule my delivery, so after the last 10 calls you didn’t know that! Whenthe driver loaded he said it would be less as I didn’t Have much. Moving is stressful enough without their fast talking sales team. Karma dude.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you want to be without your stuff for a week and have LITTLE TO NO communication with ANYONE. The ONLY reason this review has one star is because of Jess, the customer service representative who helped me on the phone finally. To start, I was told a final price in which I gave a deposit for. When the movers came, they told me there was a Long Carry Fee of $100 if they had to move my things over 75 feet. When I gave three options for where the truck could go, they claimed it was unsafe for them and they could only park the truck in one specific spot in the parking lot. This was never disclosed to me, and the movers demanded cash. They refused to move my things until that $100 was noted and given. I called my moving agent to ensure this was policy, as it was never explained to me before. When finalizing paperwork with the movers, they proceeded to verbally attack me, demanding to know why I called their boss. They started yelling at me and then yelling at each other. They rudely left my apartment, leaving remnants of their tools, tape, wrappings, and tarps. They picked up my stuff on Thursday. The movers later called me and ensured me they were coming Saturday between 1-3. I didn’t hear from ANYONE for 2 DAYS after leaving many messages and trying to reach out. Finally, I spoke to Jess. Jess ensured me the movers would be here by Wednesday (almost a week after pick up). It is now Wednesday, 1:30 PM, and I have absolutely NO update on where my things are, when they are coming, or who they are with. Luckily, Jess is very nice and is helping me the best she can. However, this is absolutely ridiculous. You give these people $1700 to be at their mercy, they have all of your stuff. It is filled with empty promises and little to no communication. I am incredibly frustrated and I have no clothes and no furniture. It’s been almost a week. When I originally planned for this move to Nashville from Pittsburgh, I was told “Oh that should be a quick move!” “It would be Monday at the absolute latest!” Well, it’s been almost a week, and I am no closer to figuring out where my stuff is. PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION.
I'm 100% positive I will never see my things again. firstly we had to call about 7 times to see when someone was going to show up on our pick up date. someone showed up in a pick up truck and asked lf I had hired a mover. ..
surely this guys was mistaken because I had a whole house to move. maybe 2 hours later 530pm!!! someone in a Uhaul showed up. im like I hired movers to pack and move my things.ONEguy no boxes!!!luckily packed 98% of my stuff myself. after he put everything in his uhaul truck he told me was cash on delivery approximately 3k! my sh*t is on ebay!!
